Dublin Easter rising parade
Dublin Easter rising parade
Ireland to celebrate 1916 rebellion for 1st time in 37 years
Should it go ahead?
Should the Orange Order be invited to take part?
After an absence of 36 years, there will be a military parade here on Sunday, April 16, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Easter Rising of 1916. The parade was suspended after widespread conflict broke out in Northern Ireland in the summer of 1969, and the Provisional Irish Republican Army said it was carrying the mantle of the 1916 rebels. The Irish government was loath to do anything that might suggest legitimacy for the IRA, such as a parade celebrating a group that killed people.
I myself think it should go ahead every other country that had a war of independence have military parades. So why not us I think it would be a good thing and nice to see again seen that I was in the last one, it will bring back memories
