My first oil paintings, this is my new hobby. The one with the boats is my first Jan 06.
I found it hard to paint water and you what four of them has water in them.
My style is called rush the brush, because I don’t have the patience to be a painter.
But I am going to stick at it and may be I will get better at it.
The drawing is of my dog it is my favorit drawings I have ever done. if anyone has any tips on painting feel free to post them.

The drawing of your dog is really good and I love the painting of the boats :D
What kind of media do you work with? Oil? Acrylic?
As for advice...well, the only advice I can give you is practise, practise and practise. Never stop drawing first of all. Without that you cannot paint. Unless you're painting abstract of course.
Patiences is not necessary, but it can be a good thing to have for the sake of details. And of course don't forget the big picture. When I've been working with a drawing or a painting for some time, I always pick it up and take it in front of a mirror. The mirror image will reveal things that I cannot see while I'm working - proportions and different angles are a lot easier to spot in a mirrored image.
